    Anyone waiting for Oklahoma sports betting just got a ray hope last week. A bill to bring the activity passed from a House Committee recently, and aims to legalize wagers on sporting events at state tribal casinos. This proposed legislation, House Bill 3008, stops short of regulating mobile betting. All transactions would be required to take place in person at a casino. The Bill was proposed by Representative Ken Luttrell, a Republican, who believes Oklahoma sports betting would be good economically for both the state and tribal gaming.   • Gambling in America Hits $53 Billion in 2021

    In 2021, gambling in America set an all-time revenue record for the commercial gaming industry. Revenue reached $53 billion, according to our friends at the American Gaming Association. This total shatters the 2019 industry record of just under $44 billion by more than 20%.     Many of you already know that Bally’s Corporation agreed to purchase the Tropicana Las Vegas last April. The sale came to just over $300 million. That agreement was really for the land on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard than it was the deteriorating hotel and casino. The non-land assets were another $150 million. Now, with the deal set to finalize, Bally’s has publicly stated that they re considering many options for the property.
